Dedicated to goddess Lakshmi, Birla Mandir is situated atop the Arera Hills, the highest point in Bhopal District. Placed in a hilly terrain, this temple commands a panoramic view of the picture perfect city. Apart from Lakshmi and her husband Vishnu, this temple also houses a beautiful shrine of Lord Shiva, with his wife Parvathi. The serene atmosphere of this magnificient shrine gives spiritual solace to the devotees.

Birla Manir also holds a museum where one could find a rich collection of sculptures that dates back to the 12th century. The temple, with its ancient charm and the surrounding greenery of the rambling loans, provides a divine feeling to the devotee.













Birla Mandir, also known as Lakshmi Narayan Temple is one of the major pilgrim centres at Bhopal in the State of Madhya Pradesh, India. Located to the south of the Lower Lake in Bhopal, the temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and his consort Goddess Lakshmi. 

Attached to the temple the visitors can find an excellent museum containing small and selected collections of local sculptures dating mainly from the Paramana period. 

Situated on the Arera hills, which is about 6 km from Bhopal railway station the temple is built by the Birlas, an industrial family in India.
